The Quick Cobbler is the only shoe repair shop in Vancouver resoling Blundstone Boots successfully.

We work in tandem with The Australian Boot Company for all of their warranty needs, and have over 30 years of experience rebuilding, customizing, and upgrading Blundstone Boots!

We carefully remove the old, worn out sole (cleaning, sanding, and pre-treating the boots) before using a special “last” (shoe form) to ensure your boots still fit like before. We use a special adhesive and a custom-built press to cement your new welts, midsoles, and soles onto the boots. Some of the Upgraded Options listed below also include stitching directly onto the boot!

We offer a wide variety of different rebuild options with different Vibram soles especially suited for Blundstone boots, depending on the use, wear, and condition of your boots.

The Quick Cobbler is the only Authorized Repair Centre for Blundstone Canada (and The Australian Boot Company) in Vancouver! We are part of their Boot Doctor Program that helps keep Blundstones alive and out of Landfills!

ReSoling Options

  • In this option, we rebuild the boots using an EVA welt. This mimics the original look and feel, providing a light and flexible welt and base to then install a new Vibram sole!

The Vibram soles that work best with this are the Vibram STOWE (lightweight, flexible, shock absorbent, with Vibrams classic Hiker Tread), the Vibram STOCKBRIDGE (same compound as the Stowe, but with a more dressy look) and even the Vibram BOLOGNA or LIVERPOOL (thinnest and dressiest Gumlite sole option) soles.

  • The Vibram “Bifida” soles are also an excellent resole option. This sole is a Vibram CUPSOLE. It incorporates the “welted” area into a cup that has the tread on it already. The bottom tread of the “Bifida” soles is quite aggressive and is made of a much stronger and more durable rubber compound than the original Blundstone Soles. You’ll find that in addition to the improved durability, these are also significantly grippier and more stable. These are definitely a little heavier and harder than the original Blundstone soles however. This is a great option for hiking, work boots, and overall heavy wearing boots!

  • Rebuilt using stronger welts (rubber), strengthened with a internally stitched Rubber Midsole, and topped off with your choice of extremely durable Vibram soles. These will certainly add some weight, but they will last a lot longer than the original Blundstone soles.

  • Rebuilt using the stronger Rubber Welts and a stitched Midsole (like the Rain Package), but this time the soles that are installed are either the Vibram Arctic Grip Lugged sole (small bits of diamond are imbedded within the sole to help grip on Ice – these soles are particularly great in dry and icy conditions), or the Vibram Fire and Ice #132 soles (great in both extremes of temperature – HOT and COLD).

  • Rebuilt using either an EVA Welt (for weight reduction and increased flexibility) or the Rubber Welts (for durability), this package uses a special sole (The Vibram Long Haul) that incorporates the comfort and weight reduction of a Gumlite compound but with a really tough Rubber Heel for added durability

  • There are two options for upgraded Cupsoles. Like the Bifida sole, we can use this style of sole to replace the welt, midsole, and sole area in one shot. These upgraded options incorporate both durability and comfort with dual layer material. A soft and comfortable wall/midsole and then a tough and durable tread to be worn.

The two upgraded Cupsoles are the Vibram 122P Foura and the Vibram 130P Cube soles.

Please see the pictures below to get an idea of how the finished re-sole will look. Cleaning, Polishing, and Conditioning is included with your repair, or we can leave your boots “weathered” if that is your preference. Just let us know.

  • We perform countless rebuilds on Blundstones every week. If you have a specific idea for a rebuild you’d like see done to your boots give us a shout!

To get a good idea of which sole is most appropriate, please fill out our estimate form or come by the store so we can show you the options in person. Please specify a first and second choice of sole option. Sometimes some sole options may not be a perfect fit. We will know this once the original soles have been removed off the boots and it is good to have a second option. Just in case...

Of course, we can take care of any other repairs your Blunnies may need such as: sewing, patching, new pull tabs or new elastic gussets!
